Rocha pear is a pear with its own characteristics that distinguish it from all others.
In 1836, with the source in a tree obtained by seed-time , was identified a pereira different, on the property of Pedro António Rocha, situated in the municipality of Sintra, whose fruits were of a quality unusual. This pear came to have the name “Pera Rocha do Oeste”
marketed throughout the year, depending on the campaign.
