White melon is a fruit, probably native to the Middle East. There are numerous varieties grown in semi-arid regions in PORTUGAL ,featuring fruit more or less spherical, with thick bark and the pulp fleshy and juicy. The color and the texture of the bark, as well as the color and the taste of its pulp, vary according to the cultivar in the Region of ALENTEJO OR RIBATEJO.
